What TV shows did you grow up on?
I grew up on Speed Racer, The Monkeys, School House Rock, I Dream of Jeanie, H.R. Puff-N-Stuff, and Star Trek.

And yes ... I currently drive a car with the doors welded shut which talks to me and has a weapons crate in the back ... the Muppets told me to do it ... WANT WOMAN!!!! WANT WOMAN!!! |

I was ruined at a young age by a cartoon called Star Blazers. I was completely unaware I was watching a translation of a Japanese cartoon, all I knew was, it was cool.
The problem was, it had a plot. It wasn't long after seeing Star Blazers that I realized most other TV shows don't. I've hated most TV ever since. Star Blazers ruined my ability to tolerate 98% of the crud on TV... |

Battlestar galactica Buck Rogers One of my most traumatic childhood memories: 3pm after school--since down in front of the HUGE console tv (remember them?) Start watching Spider-man--right at the end of the opening--POOF! A little smoke comes out of the back and the screen goes blank. Here I am a 2nd grader sitting trying to figure out how I killed the tv. mom is resting and Dad is at work. Have no idea that it was not my fault. I try desperately to revive the damn thing--turning it off and on--even changing the channel ( I guess I thought maybe just the channel died). Noting works--mom is about to wake up--so I did what any other 2nd grade boy would do. I hurried to my lil sister's room and tell her that I don't feel like watching tv--and she can go ahead and watch the Smurf's if she wants to Oh well--too bad she broke the TV

Bwock! When you find yourself in danger... Call Super Chicken! I used to make up stories to stay home and watch Mighty Mouse and Super Chicken. Transformers and GI Joe were later day ones that were easily top 10 for me. Man... the Thundercats were great! I remember that show too.... For *real* shows... I remember watching Fantasy Island, Emergency!, CHiPs, A-Team... The Incredible Hulk too, I used to love that show. |
